Stop At: Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona Spain

We begin the tour to enter the Christmas of one of the European capitals: Barcelona. Going down Passeig de Gràcia, we can see how both Casa Mila and Casa Batlló and Casa Ametller have ornamented their facades, walking under the lights that adorn the Passeig, our guide will introduce you to these modernist buildings. You can also see the windows of the main stores of this important street.

Stop At: Plaza de Cataluna, Placa de Catalunya, 08206 Barcelona Spain

At this point in the city, until last year the Christmas Fair was set up, with activities that helped the citizens of Barcelona to be more responsible in their purchases and to know the roots of the tradition. Currently this fair has been taken to Port Vell, where the tour will end.
From Plaça Catalunya we can see the surrounding buildings adorned with beautiful lights (El Triangle, El Corte Inglés, Hotel Iberostar …), it will also lead us to walk towards Portal de l’Àngel.

Stop At: Avinguda Portal de l’Angel, 08002 Barcelona Spain

A beautiful illuminated tree welcomes us to this avenue, where we can see different craft shops. We can also go to one of the most important nougat and Christmas candy shop, where Barcelona families go every year to buy these sweets so appreciated. In this store you can taste their best nougat, and buy if you want some candy to take home.
We will hear a bell that calls all the children, passing through the door of El Corte Inglés (there is another one on this avenue), we will find a Pare Noel / Santa Klaus that will offer a smile and a candy to the children who approach.

Just ahead we find before December 24, the Fira de Santa Llúcia. This Fair has its origin 233 years ago (1786-2019), we can find in it everything we need to fill our home with Christmas spirit and it will be open until December 23, after which the route will be modified slightly.
There are little shops of ornamentation details, as well as handmade gifts.

We find both the City Council of Barcelona, and the Palau de la Generalitat, thus representing a large part of the political power in Catalonia. In this square we find a design pessebre, where every year gives voice to a local artist. In 2019, we can find the endearing representation of these festivities in our childhood memories, as each box represents a memory: the virgin Mary, the Christmas plant, the stuffed Turkey …

Once we have toured the different streets of the Fira de Santa Llúcia and visited the manger of the city, we look for the street dels banys nous, where a renowned company has opened Käthe Wohlfahrt franchise.

Super known for its chocolate shops, it is an essential stop on a winter tour. We will enter one of the premises to have a hot chocolate and some churros.
