Furnas are one of the best known parishes in the Azores and are famous for their thermal waters. They are considered one of the richest hydrological basins in Europe.
To start this magnificent tour we will leave Ponta Delgada at 9 am. On the way towards Furnas it will be possible to observe the beaches of Pópulo, which mostly serve the population residing in the city of Ponta Delgada.
One of the stops made will be at the beautiful viewpoint of Santa Iria where you can see the vast majority of the North Coast of the island of São Miguel.
Still on the way towards Furnas, you will be able to observe the entire valley of the Pico do Ferro viewpoint.
Arrival at the parish is scheduled for 11:00 am, where you can relax in the warm waters of the Terra Nostra Park pool, or, if you prefer, walk the beautiful garden paths!
You will learn the whole history of this magnificent Park told by our guides, who embellish it with the innate enthusiasm with which they count it, and which will make you travel to the XVIII, XlX and XX centuries.
After lunch, you can taste the famous stew. One of the best known dishes served on the archipelago. . This is cooked through geothermal heat in holes made in the floor. However, you could choose another dish!
After lunch, we will visit the Caldeiras das Furnas, where you can observe the fumaroles, the boiling waters and smell the entrails of the earth, the sulfur! In this place you can taste directly from the springs different types of water.
Our tour will only be complete when you stop at Lagoa das Furnas where you can watch the placing and removing the stews in the holes to be cooked.
Leaving Furnas, you will take a route that will allow you to flank the beautiful lagoon, observing all its magnificence.
