Mt Eden Summit also known as Maungawhau rises 196 meters or 643 feet above sea level is one of the most prominent volcanic cones in the Auckland region and offers stunning views over the city and harbour.
Take a walk up the mountain amongst the locals to the top of the summit where on a clear day you will have a spectacular view of Auckland City, Harbour, waitakere and Rangitoto Island.

Bastion Point offers magnificent views over the Hauraki Gulf, Waitemata Harbour and downtown Auckland. This also houses the Savage memorial, which commemorates Michael Josef Savage, one of New Zealand’s most beloved prime ministers.

The rolling hillsides with its lush vegetation will pass us by as we arrive in Matamata the site of The filming of Peter Jackson’s Lord of The Rings and Hobbit Movies move set.
The farm with hundreds of sheep grazing will greet you as we arrive at the Shires Rest. You can grab a coffee at the Cafe or an ice cream at the Shires rest as we get your entry tickets to the movie set. You will board a green Hobbiton movie set bus where your journey to middle earth will begin.
You will be driven to the movie set through the 12 acre working sheep farm with the rolling hills and take in the spectacular view of the farm with the Kaimai Range in the background.
