Itinerary
Travel through farm districts Rissington, Patoko and Puketitiri to Balls Clearing Nature Reserve. Guided walk around this historic reserve with abundant native NZ flora and fauna. Experience, learn and participate in pest control and conservation activities. Travel up Makahu Road to Mangatutu Hot Springs. Enjoy refreshments in the natural, thermal Hot Springs followed by a home-cooked, Hawkes Bay produce lunch.
After lunch a guided walk along the Mohaka River for fantastic views and more flora and fauna experience. Swimming and fishing opportunities. Experience NZ “tramping” life on the start of the 2-day trek route to Mangatainoka Hot Springs.
