Itinerary

Day 1: Athens – Ancient Korinth – Road of wine – Nemea – Nafplio

Stop At: Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos), Argous 105 Ancient Korinthos village, Corinth 200 07 Greece
Meeting at the hotel. Your personal driver, assistant and tour guide will meet you at your hotel or airport and start the tour. Our first day is dedicated to the classic places of Argolis in the northern Peloponnese and the road of wine that drives through endless fields of grape vines.
Ancient Corinth: Our first stop to explore the beautifully preserved ruins of Ancient Corinth, one of the most powerful and influential city-states in ancient Greece.

Stop At: Acrocorinth, Corinth 200 07, Greece
Next we will visit Acrocorinth and its fortress and take many photos from where you can see a 360 degree panoramic view of the Gulf of Corinth and Argolis.

Stop At: Ancient Nemea, Nemea 205 00 Greece
On the way to Nemea, we will drive with you along the wine road of Argolis το see how grapes are grown and observe the endless plantations, green color, as well as tell many stories about wine-growing and visit one of the best local wineries of Nemea. You will taste Agiorgitiko, with its rich aroma and deep red color, cultivated in the Nemea region over 3000 years ago, with an eye to the past and the history of wine.
After visiting the winery we take a stop at the ancient archeological site of Nemea and have a lunch in a local Greek traditional cuisine restaurant with beauful greenery that suits tour concept.

Stop At: Nafplio, Nafplio, Argolis Region, Peloponnese
Transfer to Nafplio and hotel accommodation where you can rest.
Evening transfer to Palamidi castle and sunset at an altitude of 300 meters above the city with a panoramic view.
We will then take you near Nafplio for dinner at a local traditional restaurant (tavern).

Day 2: Mycenae – Tolo – Epidauros – Nafplion

Visit to Mycenae: The “Mycenaean period”, from 1600 to 1100 BC, refers to this ancient city, indicating its importance in Greek civilization. You can walk through the city walls 20 feet wide, enter the Lion’s Gate into Agamemnon’s throne room, and explore the buildings of his palace. We will also have a short stop at the impressive treasury of Atreus and enough time to visit the modern museum on site, which houses many of the valuable artifacts discovered at the site.
Mycenaean Center: shop with copies of ancient Greek statues in marble, ceramics, ironwork, painted in the old style.

Our next stop is at the UNESCO-listed Sanctuary of Asklepios, the first healing center of the Ancient World. You will also see the impressive Great Theatre of Epidaurus. The temple and theatre date from the 4th century and feature masterpieces of classical Greek architecture.

We enjoy our wine tasting & shortly after a dinner in the beautiful Nafplio by the sea with views of the Venetian castle of Bourtzi in the bay.

Day 3: Mystras – Monemvasia

Stop At: Mystras, 6km NW of Sparta, Sparta, Sparta Municipality 23100 Greece
Early in the morning, after having sated breakfast, we set off south to the city of Sparta. Located in the southeast of the Peloponnese, we will visit the 800-year-old ruins of the medieval city, Mystras, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Stop At: Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil, 129 Othonos Amalias Street, Sparta, Sparta Municipality 231 00 Greece
Learn everything about Greek olives and oils and its rich history. From petrified olive leaves to oil presses from Santorini – if you want to deepen your knowledge of this important aspect of Greek and Mediterranean culture, the Olive Museum is the place to be for an unforgettable experience.

Stop At: Monemvasia, Greece
Moving towards Monemvasia, we will stop at one of the best wineries in Monemvasia for wine tasting. In it you will hear and learn how grapes are grown, what difficulties and labor will be required to create the so-called Malvasia wine. After that, we will visit a unique place. This Rock of Gibraltar was the ideal inaccessible natural fortress for the settlement of locals seeking protection from the Slavic invaders in the 6th century. We will stop here overnight and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the nature of this place.
Evening dinner by the sea overlooking Monemvasia.

Day 4: Gytheio – Mani Peninsula

Stop At: Monemvasia Fortress, Monemvasia, Monemvasia Municipality 23070 Greece
In the early morning hours of breakfast, we set off to explore the beautiful walled city, built and supplemented by the Byzantines, Venetians and Ottomans before its liberation during the Greek War of Independence in the early 19th century. We will be able to walk along the streets of the city, learn the history of this place, take pictures, admire the scenery from the height of the ruined old city, visit local shops, as well as sit in a cafe and enjoy the view.

Stop At: Gytheio 232 00, Greece
After a morning walk in Monemvasia, we head towards the Mani Peninsula. On the way, we will visit the sandy beach and the shipwreck of Dimitris, a cruise ship that, due to negligence, found itself in a free float near Gytheio, where it moored and sank near the cave beach. We will be able to take photos with the remains of the sunken ship.

Upon arrival in Mani, famous for its tower houses built to protect the local population from piracy and dangerous medieval times, we will visit several beautiful routes of the peninsula, stopping if necessary in some individual villages, such as the village of Vafia, the village of Mezhapos, as well as the Diros caves and charming Limeni, where we will have lunch.

Day 5: Kalamata – Ancient Messene – Pylos – Methoni

In the morning our day begins with a trip to the city of Kalamata, famous for its olive oil and local cheeses.

Visit the most undervalued archaeological find, Ancient Messena. Founded in 371 BC after the Theban general Epaminondas defeated Sparta at the Battle of Leuctra. The Messenians were liberated from the 350-year rule of the Spartans and built a new capital and citadel, surrounded by a 9-kilometer wall. The sprawling city is still under excavation, but it has a well-preserved theater, market, Asclepius’ sanctuary and a large stadium.

Stop At: Pylos, Pylos, Pylos-Nestor, Messenia Region, Peloponnese
Leaving ancient Messena, we drive to Pylos. On the way, we will visit a classic farm and take a mini-tour of it to taste the famous quality Kamalata olive oil and cheeses. You will be able to observe the process from the cultivation of olives, the conditions of their maintenance, to the oil itself and its processing. You will try it too and you can buy it yourself. On the way to Pylos, we stop for lunch at a beautiful Greek tavern surrounded by natural greenery and picturesque landscapes.
Arriving in the town of Pylos, we check into our new 4-star hotel.

In the afternoon, we will take a short drive to the town of Methoni, 10 km from Pylos, and stop to visit Methoni Castle, a vast and well-preserved ruin that deserves a stunning sea view from its battlements and promontories. You can also swim in the clear blue sea or visit a local coffee shop in the central square. At the end of the day, we will visit a local tavern with a beautiful scenic sea view and excellent cuisine.

Day 6: Voidokilia beach – Palace of Nestor – Kyparissia

Stop At: Voidokilia Beach, Petrochori, Pylos-Nestor Greece
After a good healthy breakfast on your balcony overlooking the sea, we will start the day with a visit to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Peloponnese. The sandy beach in the shape of the Greek letter Omega forms a semicircular strip of dunes. On the land side of the dune strip is the Gialova Lagoon, an important bird habitat. The beach has been named “a place of special natural beauty”. You can also visit the old Navarino castle and the Navarino cave which are located on a hill 20 minutes walk from the beach

We will then visit Nestor’s Palace, housed in a beautifully excavated building with exhibits providing a good reconstruction of the original two-story Mycenaean palace, built over 3000 years ago and mentioned in Homer’s Iliad. There are also some amazing items from the site at the nearby museum, which is the next stop.
Lunch and visit to a local winemaker
We will visit the winery (it’s a secret). You will have the opportunity to learn how modern Greek wine is created through the entire process of its creation, where it is processed, where it is stored until the very last stage, when the wine is bottled. We will share with you the “secrets” of the taste of excellent wine. Along with this, you will taste real tsipouro and snacks produced by the locals.

Our morning is dedicated to Epikourios Temple & Ancient Olympia, both magical locations in Greece we are visiting another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Auxiliary Temple of Apollo. One of the most important and imposing of antiquity. It was dedicated by the Figs to Apollo because it helped them overcome a plague epidemic. Today the temple has been preserved inside the cover with many reliefs to discover.

Stop At: Olympia, Olympia, Elis Region, West Greece
After your transfer to Olympia, you will meet our experienced licensed guide who will guide you through history as important moments, as well as the history and mythology of the exhibits in the museum. Known for its ancient Olympics, you will see the places where athletes trained, taught, and walk through the tunnel to the stadium where they competed.
