Stop At: Valley of the Kings, Luxor City, Luxor 85511 Egypt

You will be picked up from your hotel, Nile cruise or the airport by one of Gem Explore’s Egyptologists. You’ll cross to the West bank, where you will visit the Valley Of The Kings. There, you will see the beautifully painted royal tombs at the Valley of Kings. For over a thousand years, the kings, queens, and nobles of the New Kingdom (1500-1070 B.C.) were buried in this valley, which is the world’s most magnificent burial ground. During our excursion at the Valley of kings, you’ll visit the temple of Deir El-Bahri, which means in Arabic, the “Temple of the Northern Monastery

Stop At: Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, Kings Valley Rd Deir el-Bahari, Luxor 23512 Egypt

Next, you can visit Hatshepsut’s temple. Hatshepsut (c.1473–1458 BC), the queen who became Pharaoh, built a magnificent temple at Deir al-Bahari, on the west bank of Luxor. The temple consists of three levels each of which has a colonnade at its far end. The temple’s walls are covered with beautiful painted reliefs depicting temple rituals, religious festivals, and even the transportation of obelisks from the quarry to their destination in Karnak Temple. Perhaps most interesting are the reliefs in the portico on the so-called Middle Platform.

After lunch, you’ll visit The Colossi of Memnon. They are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned in Egypt during the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt. Since 1350 BCE, they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, located west of the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor.

Stop At: Temple of Karnak, Karnak, Luxor Egypt

Then you will go to one of Luxor’s most famous temples, Karnak. Karnak remains the most remarkable religious complex ever built on earth. Its 250 acres of temples and chapels, obelisks, columns, and statues were built over 2,000 years. It visualizes Egyptian art and architecture into a great historical monument of stone.

Stop At: Luxor Temple, Luxor 23512 Egypt

Then, you’ll go to one of Luxor’s primary temples; the Luxor temple. To the rear of the temple are chapels built by Amenhotep III of the 18th Dynasty, and Alexander. Other parts of the temple were built by Tutankhamun and Ramesses II. During the Roman era, the temple and its surroundings were a legionary fortress and the home of the Roman government in the area.

Later, you will be escorted back to your hotel or even the airport.
