Welcome to PJ Angkor Tour! We are a group of professional English-Speaking Tour Guide in Siem Reap. This is a private 3-day tour to explore some best tourist destinations in Siem Reap. On the first day, we will see a beautiful sunrise. Then, we visit Bayon, smiling-face temple and Baphuon, the pyramid-shape temple. Ta Prohm or Tomb Raider temple has a stunning view of growing tree on the temple. Next, we’ll come back to the town to see a workshop of Khmer carving at Artisan d’Angkor.

Second day, We will visit Angkor big circuit such as Preah Khan (Holy Sword temple), Neak Pean (coiled-serpent temple), Ta Som and Pre Rup (Turning Body Temple). Then, we will visit Cambodia Landmine Museum where extracted mines and other nonexplosive weaponry are displayed. After lunch, we continue our trip to Banteay Srei, the gem stone of Angkor Wat.

On the third day, we will travel to Beng Mealea, the sister of Angkor Wat and Koh Ker group, a hidden-jungle temple.

Itinerary

Day 1: Angkor Wat Sunrise

Stop At: Angkor Wat, Sangkat Nokor Thum, Siem Reap Cambodia
The tour will allow you to capture the beauty of wonderful sunrise in front of Angkor Wat. We’ll start our trip early in the morning and head to Angkor Wat. Sunrise at the world largest religious monument creates a wonderful view that you’ve never seen before.

Stop At: Bayon Temple, Angkor Thom, Siem Reap Cambodia
Then, we continue our trip to see the second largest Angkor Capital, the Angkor Thom. There is a temple at the center of the city, called Bayon. This temple was built by the great Khmer King Jayavarman VII. The temple has 54 giant faces of Avalokiteshvara, smiling and looking you at every corner.

Stop At: Baphuon Temple, Angkor Tom Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap 17252 Cambodia
Baphuon is a Pyramid-shaped temple at the west of Bayon. As a mountain temple, Baphuon has steep stairs leading the visitor to the terrace that give a great view of Angkor Thom.

Stop At: Ta Prohm, National Road #6 Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap 17252 Cambodia
Ta Prohm or Tomb Raider (nick name) temple is next temple, we’ll visit. It got this nickname when Tomb Raider movie had several scenes in the temple. Big trees grow and intertwine its roots over the temple, make strange and unique views of the hidden-jungle temple.

Stop At: Artisans Angkor, Stung Thmey Street, Siem Reap 17259 Cambodia
Artisans Angkor is a social enterprise that help young people find work in their hometown with their crafting skills. It has a live workshop, so visitors can see the real work of making beautiful carvings.

Day 2: Angkor Big Circuit Tour

Stop At: Preah Khan, Angkor Wat Angkor Archaelogical Park, Siem Reap 17252 Cambodia
Preah Khan or holy sword is a12th-century temple, built by King Jayavarman VII to honor his father. It was a city and a Buddhist university with almost 100,000 servants who worked there. There is a large Baray (water reservoir) offering a beautiful reflection of surrounded temples and forest.

Stop At: Neak Pean, Angkor Wat Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap 17252 Cambodia
Neak Pean or the coiled-serpent temple was constructed on an artificial island as a Buddhist temple. This small temple was associated to Preah Khan, built by the same King, Jayavarman VII.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Ta Som, Angkor Archaeological Park, 17252 Cambodia
Ta Som is a small temple, built at the end of the 12th century for King Jayavarman VII. It was dedicated to his father. Nowadays, the temple was ruined by trees and villagers’ vegetation farm. The most popular features of the temple is the huge stranger fig tree at the eastern gate.

Stop At: Pre Rup, National Road #6 Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap 17252 Cambodia
Pre Rup temple is built in 961 or early 962 as a state temple. The name Pre Rup means turn the body because Cambodians believe funerals were conducted at the temple. It is a pyramid-shape mountain temple with height of 50m. On the top of the temple, travelers can see a beautiful surrounded rice fields.

Stop At: Cambodia Landmine Museum, Angkor National Park, 7km south of Banteay Srey Temple, Siem Reap Cambodia
Cambodia was ruined by civil war for decades. The Khmer Rouge era was a destruction to Cambodia, killing almost 2 million people due to the mass killing, torture, starvations and so on. After the war finished, Cambodia still faces another problem, the landmines. Millions of them still in the ground, impacted the culture and livelihood of people. Cambodia Landmine Museum is a non-governmental organization helps clearing landmines. It has a museum displaying many types of extracted mines and other weaponries. It is a worth seeing and learn the history of Cambodia.

Stop At: Banteay Srei, Siem Reap Cambodia
A beautiful temple out of Angkor Archaeological park, Banteay Srei is a 10th-century east of Siem Reap province. The name Banteay Srei means Citadel of Women because it is said that the temple was built by women. Red stone blocks were used to construct Banteay Srei. The condition of the temple stand still today with beautiful carvings of Angkorean arts.

Day 3: Koh Ker & Beng Mealea

Stop At: Beng Mealea, 40 km east of Angkor Wat Cambodia
In the morning, we’ll leave around 7 o’clock. About 60km into the journey, we’ll stop at Beng Mealea temple. Here you can explore a beautiful temple which has been left to ruins. The jungle has slowly taken over and it’s a great site to visit. It is considered as the sister of Angkor Wat because they were built with the same floor.

Stop At: Koh Ker Temple, RN64 – 2km south KOH KER site entrance and Srayang 100 Km North of Siem Reap Cambodia
We’ll then continue to the Koh Ker group where you’ll visit Prasat Pram, Neang Kmao, Koh Ker, Prasat Lingas, and Kror Chab. Koh Kor was briefly the capital city of the Angkor Empire between the years 921 and 946 under King Jayavarman V. He built nearly 140 temples in Koh Ker as well as a large reservoir. Nowadays, it’s a National Park.

Koh Ker is the main temple which is a pyramid-shape monument. It has the height of 35m with 7 tiers. On the top, you can enjoy the view of surrounded forest.
It was also a stronghold of the Khmer Rouge and many thousands of mines were left in the area. These have since been cleared and it’s safe for tourists.

We’ll then stop for lunch for around an hour and then head back to Siem Reap to see the sunset on the great Tonle Sap lake.

In the evening, we recommend that you see a traditional dance show at Por Cuisine restaurant. You’ll see the famous Apsara dancers performing several traditional dances.
